Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University men’s and women’s swimming teams will look to continue their successes this weekend as they swim against Lenoir-Rhyne University and Pfeiffer University for the senior day swim meet Saturday afternoon. The first event will begin at 2 p.m. in the Wingate University natatorium.

The Bulldog men’s and women’s teams are familiar with both Pfeiffer and Lenoir-Rhyne, as both schools participated in the WU Fall Frenzy meet Nov. 21-22. Seven women’s teams and five men’s teams participated in this year’s WU Fall Frenzy event earlier this swim season.

The Bulldog seniors will swim their last swim meet at the Wingate University Natatorium Saturday. The 12 Wingate seniors have been very successful throughout their years of college swimming. The men have added two Blue Grass Mountain Conference championships (2008, 2009) to the school’s two women’s crowns from 2004 and 2005. At the 2009 national meet, the Bulldog men finished sixth and the Wingate women placed 32nd.

The Bulldogs are currently undefeated in dual meet competition. They are looking forward to this weekend to keep the streak alive. Wingate’s 12 seniors (nine men, three women) will be honored during one of the meet’s breaks.
