Rock Hill, S.C.----Tusculum College, which went undefeated in conference play, received the No. 1 seed in next week’s Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Women’s Tennis Tournament, where they will attempt to win their second straight tournament championship.
Tusculum (8-0 SAC, 16-4) is ranked 8th in the Southeast Region in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings. Tusculum will host eight-seed Lenoir-Rhyne (1-7 SAC, 1-16) University on Tuesday.
Carson-Newman College (7-1 SAC, 10-2) earned the second seed and will face seventh-seed Lincoln Memorial University (2-6, 7-12) in Tuesday’s quarterfinal action.
Wingate University (6-2, 11-7) is the third seed and will face sixth-seed Catawba College (3-5, 3-9) in a quarterfinal match at 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
Brevard College (5-3, 15-5) is the fourth seed and will host fifth-seed Mars Hill College (4-4, 6-9) in another quarterfinal match on Tuesday.
The semifinals and finals will be held at the Rock Hill Tennis Center in Rock Hill, S.C. on Friday, April 24. The semifinals will begin at 1 p.m. The semifinal winners meet for the tournament championship at Noon on Saturday.
The tournament winner will receive an automatic bid into the NCAA Division II Women’s Tennis Tournament.
