Perry, N.Y.----Wingate University senior midfield Mark Hodsdon (Hilton Head Island, S.C.) has been named to the South squad in the 68th annual United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) North-South All-Star game for NCAA Division I and Division II senior student-athletes.

Hodsdon left today (Thursday, May 21) for Boston. This year’s North-South Senior All-Star Games will take place at Harvard Stadium in Boston, Friday, May 22 (Memorial Day weekend) as part of a triple-header with the Boston Cannons versus the Denver Outlaws game. The first face-off for the Division III game will take place at 2 p.m., while the Division I/II contest will start at 4 p.m. The Cannons game will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Earlier this week, Hodsdon was named to the NCAA Division II All-America second team, as selected by USILA member coaches. A two-time All-Deep South Conference selection, Hodsdon led the 2009 Bulldogs in goals (31), assists (24) and points (55). He was listed in the DSC top 10 in each category.

Hodsdon had the game-winning assist in Wingate’s 8-7 overtime win at Catawba April 9. In addition to his offensive prowess, Hodsdon’s 43 ground balls earn him the second spot on the 2009 team charts. Hodsdon and his teammates helped Wingate win 40 games during the past four seasons. The Bulldogs won three DSC regular season titles and tourney crown in the last four years (2006-09).
