Kara Stasikelis (Greer, S.C.) was named to the All-South Atlantic Conference first team, as announced by league officials today. Bulldog sophomore
Samantha Alschlager (Indian Trail, N.C.) was named to the second team All-SAC team.
Stasikelis posted a 7-10 overall record playing in the number one singles spot, including a 2-5 record in the SAC. She also played number one doubles, putting up an 11-6 record while playing with freshman Kelli Ferguson (Concord, N.C.). The duo has gone 7-3 in their last ten matches and posted a 5-2 SAC record.
Alschlager posted a team-best 13-3 record, playing primarily in the number three singles slot. She posted another team-high with a 7-1 SAC record; she is 8-1 overall in her last nine matches. In addition to fine singles play, Alschlager teamed up with senior Hollyn Alberghini (Stanfield, N.C.) to post another team-best in doubles wins, going 14-4 overall and 6-2 in the SAC in the second doubles slot.
The Bulldogs finished in third in the SAC and look to place well in the week’s Food Lion SAC Tournament.
