Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University volleyball team enters the 2010 season following what proved to be the most successful season in the history of the program in 2009. Wingate head coach
Shelton Collier led the team to an impressive 36-2 record, and for the second straight season the Bulldogs posted a perfect 16-0 mark in the South Atlantic Conference. Wingate's three-year record of 100-6 is good for the second highest winning percentage in the nation, trailing only three-time defending national champion Concordia St. Paul. This marks the fourth consecutive year that Collier has led the team to the best season in program history.

Rock Hill, S.C.----The four-time defending South Atlantic Conference regular season and tournament champion Wingate University volleyball team has been picked by the coaches to win its fifth straight title, officials announced today. In addition, five Bulldogs were named to the preseason All-SAC team, with four earning first team honors. Seniors

Lauren Billo (Orland Park, Ill.) are joined by juniors
Maggie Malone (Chicago, Ill.) and
Liz Willis (Raleigh, N.C.) on the first team. Senior middle blocker
Rebecca Bloemer (Louisville, Ky.) earns second team honors.

Wisconsin Dells, Wis.----Wingate University head volleyball coach Shelton Collier led the USA Youth National A2 team to a bronze-medal finish at the National High Performance Championships held July 26-29. Collier’s young team played up an age group in the Junior International division of the tournament, placing third in the 18-team field.
