Wingate, N.C.----Wingate University senior Rebecca Gerbert (South Euclid, Ohio) has been a four-year swimmer for the Bulldogs. She decided to swim for Wingate almost immediately. “I stepped out of the car and loved it,” Gerbert says. “The campus was beautiful and I really liked the team…and I wanted to go (to a school) where it doesn’t snow.”

Atlanta, Ga.----The Bulldog swimming teams took a trip to Emory University Saturday to face the Division III Eagles and fellow Division powerhouse Delta State (Miss.) University. Both Wingate teams were riding an undefeated season coming into the weekend and were faced with the challenge of facing two top five nationally ranked teams. Both teams suffered a defeat but valuable experience was gained in swimming some of the fastest swimmers in the nation.

Atlanta, Ga.----The Wingate University men’s and women’s swimming teams will look to continue their successes this weekend as they swim against Emory University and Delta State University Saturday afternoon in Atlanta, Ga. This will be the Bulldogs last regular season meet before the Blue Grass Mountain Conference Championships February 17-20, 2010. The first event Saturday will take place at 2 p.m. in Emory’s Woodruff PE Center.
