Wingate, N.C.----Wingate University head coach Joe Reich announces the 2010 Bulldog football signing class. Reich has signed 22 student-athletes for the 2010 season. The class includes 19 freshmen and three transfers (one sophomore, one junior and one senior).

Pittsburg, Kan.----Don Hansen’s Football Gazette has released its 2009 NCAA Division II All-Super Region 2 squad. Wingate University placed three student-athletes on the honor squad, led by redshirt junior return specialist
Perry Floyd (Gastonia, N.C.). The Forestview High School graduate earned first team laurels.
Two Bulldogs were named to the third team: redshirt senior offensive lineman
Ben Benshoof (Huntersville, N.C.) and sophomore running back
Vince Jordan (Mt. Gilead, N.C.). Earlier, Benshoof was named to the Daktronics All-Super Region 2 football second team.

Indianapolis, Ind.----For Kenwin Cummings, the road to the NFL was much longer than the 595 miles separating his hometown of Maxton, N.C. and East Rutherford, N.J., home of the New York Jets. Cummings was not drafted, but his hard work and determination have earned him a spot on the surprise team of the NFL playoffs, a team that is only one win away from reaching Super Bowl XLIV.
