Wilmington, N.C.----The nationally-ranked Wingate University men’s and women’s swimming teams conclude the 2011-12 regular season Saturday, visiting NCAA Division I UNC Wilmington for a dual meet. The first event at the Seahawk Natatorium is slated for 2 p.m. Last Saturday, the Bulldogs swept a dual meet over Bluegrass Mountain Conference foe Lenoir-Rhyne at the Wingate University Natatorium. The number five Bulldog men outscored the visiting Bears 112-77, while the number 22 Wingate women earned a 137-45 victory.

Joe Reich have released the
2012 Wingate University football schedule. This year, the Bulldogs are scheduled to play 11 games. Six games will be held at Wingate’s Irwin Belk Stadium and John R. Martin Field. In 2011, the Bulldogs were 5-6 overall and 4-3 in the rugged South Atlantic Conference.

Rock Hill, S.C.----The Wingate University softball team was picked third in the pre-season South Atlantic Conference poll, voted on by the league coaches. Wingate senior catcher Brittany Barrineau (Monroe, N.C.) earned second team pre-season All-SAC honors as well.
